Nepali Congress to Observe BP Koirala's 44th Memorial Day

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress will observe the 44th memorial day of BP Koirala across the country on Shrawan 6 and 7 with various programs. 

Speaking at a press conference organized at the party office on Monday, Vice-President Bishwaprakash Sharma informed that the BP Memorial Day will be observed in the Kathmandu Valley on Shrawan 6 with programs related to climate change organized by the party's Central Policy, Research and Training Academy, and on Shrawan 7 with the announcement of the party's new campaign. 

Under this, 3 programs will be organized on Shrawan 6. Among them, a 5 km 'Green Run' competition will be held in Lalitpur with the slogan 'Let's unite to raise climate awareness'. The competition will start at 6 am from Lalitpur UN Park and will have separate competitions for men and women.

Establishment of 'Humanitarian Support Fund'

Based on the number of participants in the 'Green Run', Nepali Congress has stated that a 'Humanitarian Support Fund' will be established by collecting a certain amount per person from its own fund. The fund will be spent for the benefit of the elderly parents and young children of the displaced landless families. Registration for those wishing to participate in the competition will be open online through scanning the party's Facebook and Google form until tonight.

Separate cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000, and Rs 20,000 will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners in the men's and women's categories respectively. Similarly, the fourth, fifth, and sixth place will be awarded Rs 12,000, Rs 10,000, and Rs 8,000 respectively. Along with this, trophies and medals will be awarded to the winners.
