Model Dally Gurung Yacthumba Crowned Mrs. Nepal Universe 2026

Kathmandu. Model and social activist Dally Gurung Yacthumba, who has successfully overcome third-stage colon cancer, has been selected as 'Fifth Mrs. Nepal Universe – 2026'.

At the 'Crown Ceremony' organized by London Fashion House in Jhamshikhel, Lalitpur, Lalitpur Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Manjali Shakya and Mrs. Nepal Universe Director and Program Organizer Manisha Dangol Shrestha crowned Dally as 'Fifth Mrs. Nepal Universe – 2026'.

Dally, who is also Nepal's first television (visual) model, was an advertisement and fashion model of the 2040s and 50s. She modeled in the first video advertisement produced in Nepal.

Now, Dally Gurung Yacthumba will represent Nepal in 'Mrs. Universe 2026' to be held in October. Dally, a mother of three, said at the ceremony that she was inspired for this title by her husband Nirakar Yacthumba (guitarist of the band 1974 AD), her children, and her mother-in-law Indira Yacthumba.

She stated that by participating in 'Mrs. Universe 2026', she will introduce Nepal differently to women around the world this time. At the ceremony, she said, 'I am overjoyed to be selected as the Fifth Mrs. Nepal Universe – 2026 while enjoying nature after getting a second life by overcoming cancer. Believing this is an important platform to introduce Nepali women to the world, my husband and family encouraged me, and I express my confidence that I will take Mrs. Nepal Universe 2026 to greater heights.'

Mrs. Nepal Universe Director and London Fashion House Chairperson Manisha Dangol Shrestha expressed confidence that 'Mrs. Nepal Universe 2026' Dally Gurung Yacthumba, who has achieved success through much struggle, will bring the title for Nepal in Mrs. Universe and wished her well at the ceremony.
