Industry Department Approves Rs 58 Billion FDI Commitments for FY 2082/83

Kathmandu. The Department of Industry has approved direct foreign investment commitments worth Rs 58 billion 1 crore 85 lakh 305 in the financial year 2082/83.

The department has stated that during the period from the beginning of Shrawan to the end of Ashad, foreign investment commitments have come for 897 projects worth Rs 9 billion 58 crore through the 'automatic route' and for 219 projects worth Rs 48 billion 41 crore 66 lakh three thousand 25 through the 'approved route'.

According to the department, foreign investment commitments worth Rs 3 billion 91 crore have come for 63 projects in the manufacturing sector in the last fiscal year. Similarly, foreign investment commitments worth Rs 7 billion 16 crore have come for four projects under the energy sector.

Likewise, foreign investment commitments worth Rs 23 billion 18 crore have come for 18 projects in the agricultural sector. The department has stated that foreign investment commitments worth Rs 13 billion 99 crore have come for 227 projects in the tourism sector. Similarly, foreign investment commitments worth Rs 2 billion 83 crore have come for 727 projects in the information technology sector.
