Arniko Highway Section to Close at Night for Paving

Kavrebhanjyang. Traffic will be stopped at night for 15 days from the third week of Asar to speed up the work on the Dhulikhel-Khawa road section, which is being upgraded as part of the Arniko Highway. The District Security Committee has stated that traffic will be completely closed on this road section from Asar 22 to the upcoming Sawan 4. Regarding the blacktopping of this road section, it has been decided to completely prohibit the entry of tippers and large cargo trucks during the mentioned period, and to restrict the entry of other passenger and cargo vehicles only from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, said the committee coordinator and Chief District Officer Gopal Kumar Adhikari. According to him, the road construction process has been delayed slightly due to the end of the financial year, with the aim of not affecting the transportation of construction materials. The committee has also stated that it will recommend passenger and cargo vehicles to use alternative routes as much as possible to facilitate road construction. Chief District Officer Adhikari informed that vehicles for essential services, including ambulances, will be allowed to operate as before during the night within the specified period. The committee has stated that coordination will be done with the District Administration Offices of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Dolakha, and Sindhupalchok for traffic management and necessary facilitation for drivers. Last Chaitra, blacktopping (DBM-pitch) work was carried out on a two-and-a-half-kilometer road by completely closing traffic at night and operating one-way during the day for about a month.
