One Dead, Nine Injured in Clash Between Hindu and Muslim Communities in Sunsari

Kathmandu. One person lost his life in a clash between Hindu and Muslim communities in Captainganj, Ward No.-3 of Dewangunj Rural Municipality, Sunsari. Thirty-year-old Omprakash Mehta, a resident of Dewangunj-4, lost his life after being shot by security personnel. Security officials say he was shot once. 9 other locals were injured in the clash. A police official from the District Police Office, Sunsari, told Ratopati that two of the injured were shot. The other 7 injured were not shot. The condition of two locals is critical. Inspector Rakesh Rai and 10 other security personnel, along with 10 armed police personnel, were injured in the clash.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital and Virat Nursing Home in Biratnagar.
