Education Minister Pledges Support for Rajarshi Janak University

Dhanusha. Minister of Education and Sports Sasmita Pokharel has stated that the government is committed to solving the problems of Rajarshi Janak University and improving its education. Minister Pokharel, who reached Janakpur to understand the university's situation and discuss its future course, clarified that the university will be moved forward in a more refined and organized manner. During consultations with university officials, he expressed interest particularly in the construction of physical infrastructure and land acquisition. Discussing the difficulties faced due to the university not having its own building, he assured that the construction work will begin soon by quickly concluding the legal process for land acquisition. During the visit, Minister Pokharel also handed over various sports materials to the students. Addressing the students' complaint about the lack of sports materials during a visit about two months ago, he provided materials such as cricket bats, balls, and footballs. He expressed happiness in being able to fulfill the students' demands in accordance with his previous commitment. Regarding the campaign to declare Madhesh Province as a 'Literate Province', Minister Pokharel informed that the report has already been made public and handed over to the provincial government. Mentioning that the progress of the campaign is satisfactory, he also clarified his plan to discuss further coordination on this matter with the Chief of Province and relevant unit heads. 'Today, we consulted with the Vice-Chancellor regarding the university's problems, especially land management and the construction of its own building,' said Minister Pokharel. 'Preparations are underway to expedite these works.' He stated that during his previous visit to Janakpur, students had complained about the lack of sports materials, and materials were handed over in accordance with that commitment. He said that the progress of the report on declaring a literate province is satisfactory and there is a plan to review it with the relevant bodies of the province in the coming days. Mentioning that work is being done with the objective of identifying and solving problems and transforming challenges into opportunities, Minister Pokharel said that the process of acquiring land for the university and constructing its own building will be started as soon as possible. He clarified that although there are many challenges in the education sector, the government is moving forward by seeking opportunities within those challenges.
