Disaster Response Training and Awareness Program Conducted in Sunsari

Kathmandu. A 7-day disaster response training and awareness program has been conducted with the organization of Armed Police Force Nepal No. 1 Barah Bahini Headquarters Sunsari and the cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Koshi Province.

The disaster response training and awareness program, targeting municipal police and local residents in local levels of Dhankuta, Jhapa, Sunsari, and Morang districts, was conducted from Asar 9.

In the training, theoretical and practical exercises will be conducted on topics such as fire, water-induced disasters, first aid, CPR, rope rescue, and search and rescue in collapsed houses and structures.

The training and awareness program will be conducted in 4 places: Armed Police Force Nepal No. 2 Battalion Jhapa, No. 3 Kankalini Mai Battalion Morang, Rangeli Municipality Hall, No. 4 Battalion Sunsari, and No. 6 Chhintang Gulm Dhankuta.

A total of 100 people, including 20 municipal police and 20 local residents from each place, participated in the training. The training will be conducted until Asar 16.

It is also believed that the training will help in the rescue and assistance of disaster victims and in producing disaster volunteers.
