Road Collapses in Lalitpur Due to Heavy Rain

Lalitpur. A road has collapsed in Mahalakshmisthan, Lalitpur due to continuous rain. After the road collapsed, furniture, cafes, and grocery stores located next to it are also at risk.

Since the wall connected to the road is not strong, the wall and soil fell towards the furniture when the road collapsed. There were six people inside the furniture when the road collapsed. They escaped after hearing a loud noise from outside.

Furniture operators said that a major disaster was averted because four iron structures embedded in the furniture held the collapsed wall and soil. Photo: Nepal Photo Library
