Nepali Congress Leader Nain Singh Mahar Emphasizes Unity for National Challenges

Nepali Congress leader Nain Singh Mahar has stated that only the strong unity and robust organization of the Nepali Congress can effectively confront the political, social, and economic challenges facing the country. Speaking at a program organized by the School of Democracy in Kathmandu on the occasion of BP Koirala Memorial Day, leader Mahar mentioned that protecting the self-respect of the country, the people, and all Congress members in the current situation is a shared responsibility, emphasizing the need to move forward with a common objective by abandoning personal stubbornness, grudges, prejudices, and factional thinking. He noted that the ideals of democracy, socialism, and nationalism espoused by BP Koirala are still equally relevant today, and that mutual trust, cooperation, and unprecedented unity within the Congress are essential to put those ideals into practice. Mahar stated that the Nepali Congress is not just a party of a few leaders but an institution that carries the hopes, trust, and legacy of the democratic movement of millions of Nepalis, and that an environment where everyone's self-respect is valued must be created to transform the party according to the footsteps of time and public expectations. He said that establishing broad understanding, mutual trust, and unprecedented unity within the Congress to strongly counter all kinds of extremist and divisive tendencies that appear against democracy, the constitution, nationality, and social harmony is the main need of the hour. At the program, various speakers discussed BP Koirala's democratic philosophy, national unity, and socialist ideas, expressing the view that putting his ideals into practice and making the Nepali Congress more unified, strong, and people-oriented is the need of the hour.
