US Defense Ministry Identifies Two American Soldiers Killed in Jordan Attack

Washington DC. The US Defense Ministry has released the identities of two American soldiers killed in an Iranian attack in Jordan.

According to the Defense Ministry, 25-year-old First Lieutenant Tyler James Fien and 19-year-old soldier Isabella Gonzales were killed in an attack on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan on Friday.

Isabella Gonzales died on Friday, while Tyler James Fien died on Saturday, the Defense Ministry said.

Fien's parents, speaking to the American media, said they were in complete mourning over their son's death. According to them, Fien was preparing to get married after returning home after completing his military duties.

'Tyler achieved in his 25 years what many people cannot achieve in a lifetime,' the family said.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement released on Saturday. The US Defense Ministry stated that both soldiers were killed in an enemy attack. Other American soldiers were also injured in this attack.

Four of them were taken to a hospital in Jordan for treatment, and after treatment, they were discharged, the US Central Command said. The Defense Ministry also stated that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

These deaths, announced on Saturday, are the first American soldiers to die from Iranian attacks since March. Earlier on Sunday, the US Defense Ministry had reported the death of another American soldier while neutralizing an Iranian drone. It also said that human remains yet to be identified were found in Jordan during the search for a missing soldier.

A program to respectfully return all four soldiers to their home country has been scheduled for Wednesday. With these incidents, the number of American soldiers killed in the nearly five-month-long US-Iran war has reached 17.
