Curacao Goalkeeper Eloy Room Sets New World Cup Record for Saves

In the match against Ecuador at Kansas City Stadium, USA, Room made a new record by making 15 saves within the stipulated 90 minutes.

With this performance, Eloy Room has registered his name as the goalkeeper who made the most saves within the stipulated 90 minutes of the World Cup. Previously, in the 2014 World Cup, USA's Tim Howard made a total of 16 saves against Belgium, but he only made 12 saves within the stipulated 90 minutes. The remaining 4 saves were made in extra time. However, Room surpassed Howard's 10-year-old record by thwarting 15 shots within 90 minutes without extra time.

Ecuador created a completely one-sided pressure in today's match. Ecuador, which kept 75 percent of the ball under its control, attempted to score 26 times.
