Madan Bhandari Cup U-19 Girls Volleyball Tournament Begins Sunday

Kathmandu. The Madan Bhandari Cup U-19 School Level Bagmati Province Girls Volleyball Tournament organized by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy will start on Sunday.

8 teams will participate in the competition, informed the organizing academy's chairman Dhruv Acharya at a press conference held on Saturday. This 4-day competition, which is being held on the occasion of the 75th birth anniversary of People's Leader Madan Bhandari, will be played at Angels Sports Academy in Manmaiju.

The competition will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis by dividing the participating teams into two groups. Group 'A' includes New Diamond Youth Sports Club, Saraswati Higher Secondary School Helambu, Amar Jyoti Technical School Nuwakot, and Angels Sports Academy. Similarly, Group 'B' includes New Diamond Academy, Elixir Academy, Ganesh Himal School, and Surya Vinayak Bhaktapur.

The top four teams in the competition will receive cash prizes of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 50 thousand, Rs 30 thousand, and Rs 15 thousand respectively, informed competition coordinator and Madan Bhandari Sports Academy Bagmati Province chairman Ram KC. According to him, the best player in each category will be awarded Rs 10,000 cash, and the best spiker, setter, blocker, defender, server, and coach will each be awarded Rs 5,000 cash. Molten is the official ball partner of the competition.

At the press conference, Chairman Acharya said that the academy has been conducting various sports activities in different parts of the country with the aim of involving all classes in sports. Similarly, Coordinator KC expressed the view that age-group competitions are an important medium for identifying talented players of the future. According to the organizers, this competition will cost approximately 27 lakh rupees.
