Armed Police Jawan Dies of Electric Shock in Jhapa

Jhapa. An armed police jawan working at the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 38 Reserve Battalion in Padajungi, Kamal Rural Municipality-5, Jhapa, died of electric shock. Senior Armed Police Superintendent Mahesh KC, Information Officer of the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 1 Barah Bahini Headquarters, Koshi Province, informed that Jawan Sudim Khatri died on Thursday while repairing the internal electric line. Khatri, 30, from Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-13, Sunsari, was electrocuted around 5 PM on Thursday while repairing the electric line inside the battalion. He was immediately rushed to Amda Hospital in Damak for treatment after being seriously injured by the electric shock, where doctors declared him dead. According to Senior Armed Police Superintendent KC, the deceased Khatri had received training from the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT). The armed police have stated that an investigation into the incident is underway.
