MP Ganesh Poudel Attacked with Ink in Rautahat

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Ganesh Poudel has been attacked with ink. Locals of Gadhimai Municipality in Rautahat have attacked MP Poudel with ink.

On Thursday night, while meeting with the public, local youths attacked MP Poudel with ink from behind. While returning after participating in a program organized in Ward No. 4 of Gadhimai, Ward No. 4 of Rautahat constituency, activists of the Madhesi Liberation Campaign threw black ink at MP Poudel while chanting slogans. MP Poudel himself has confirmed the incident.

He said, 'It was around 8 PM, as I was returning after finishing the program, some youths threw black substance at me from behind. Their identity has also been established.'

According to him, the attackers fled towards the sugarcane field after throwing black ink. Activists of the Madhesi Liberation Campaign also chanted slogans with flags. They also threw pamphlets there. According to MP Poudel, they chanted slogans saying that the land from Mechi to Mahakali is part of Madhes.

He said that they had asked him to go and see the Kabardah (Muslim burial ground) in the evening. After their request, MP Poudel had postponed it saying it was too late and they would go another day. However, MP Poudel said that he felt like they themselves came chanting slogans later.
