Flood Forecast Issued for Various Districts

Kathmandu. According to the bulletin issued by the Flood Forecasting Division on Monday morning, although the flow of major rivers in the country is currently below the alert level, there is a risk of flash floods in small rivers in various districts.

According to this morning's measurement, the flow of Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, Mahakali and their tributaries, as well as Kankai, Kamala, Babai, Eastern Rapti and Western Rapti rivers is below the alert level.

Today, there is a high risk of flash floods with a significant increase in water flow in small rivers flowing through Gorkha, Rupandehi, Arghakhanchi, Kapilvastu and Dang.

Similarly, the division has stated that there is a moderate risk of flash floods with increased water flow in small rivers flowing through Jhapa, Morang, Ilam, Sunsari, Panchthar, Tehrathum, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Kavrepalanchok, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Kaski, Tanahu, Syangja, Parbat, Baglung, Gulmi, Palpa, Nawalpur East, Nawalpur West, Pyuthan, Banke, Bardiya, Doti, Dadeldhura, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Baitadi, Dadeldhura and surrounding districts.

There is a possibility that the flow in some small rivers flowing through Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Province may increase suddenly on July 21 and July 22. The division has requested residents of riverine areas to take necessary precautions.
