Chitwan National Park Distributes Over NPR 12.9 Million in Wildlife Damage Relief

Chitwan. Relief amounting to NPR 12,998,307 has been distributed as compensation for damage caused by wild animals in settlements around Chitwan National Park. This amount has been distributed as relief for human casualties, crop damage, and livestock damage caused by wild animals.

According to the park's information officer Avinash Thapa Magar, NPR 134,176 was provided for the treatment of minor injuries, NPR 2,942,481 for serious injuries, and NPR 5,000,000 in relief to the families of five people who died due to wild animals in the last fiscal year.

Similarly, NPR 2,360,200 has been distributed as relief for livestock damage, NPR 70,000 for stored food damage, NPR 339,650 for house and shed damage, NPR 2,108,300 for crop damage, and NPR 43,500 for chicken damage, he informed.

Relief is provided every year for the damage caused by wild animals to citizens residing in the buffer zone areas of the park.
