Weather Forecast: Moderate Rain with Thunderstorms Expected Across Nepal

Kathmandu.    The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has predicted moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in the main cities across the country on Monday. There is a high probability of rain in most areas during both the afternoon and night today.

In Kathmandu today, the maximum temperature will be between 27 to 29 degrees Celsius with a 70 percent chance of rain. Moderate rain with thunderstorms is also possible in Kathmandu at night, with the minimum temperature estimated to be between 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.

In Pokhara, Dhangadhi, and Jomsom, the probability of rain will be up to 80 percent in the afternoon. In Bhairahawa, the maximum temperature will reach between 32 to 34 degrees, in Simara and Janakpur between 31 to 33 degrees, and in Dipayal and Dharan between 30 to 32 degrees Celsius. In the afternoon, there is a possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning in almost all cities.

During the night, Jomsom and Jumla will experience light rain with thunderstorms, while moderate rain is expected in all other cities. At night, the probability of rain in Dhankuta, Biratnagar, Dharan, and Pokhara will be 70 percent. The Department has urged for necessary precautions to be taken against thunderstorms and lightning with moderate rain in most cities in the Terai and hilly regions at night.
