Absconder in Polygamy Case Arrested in Bhaktapur

Kathmandu. Police have arrested an absconder in a polygamy case. The arrested person is Dwarika Pokharel, 42, residing in Ward No. 5 of Panauti Municipality, Kavre, and originally from Ward No. 5 of Changu Narayan Municipality, Bhaktapur. A police team dispatched from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, arrested him on Friday from Ward No. 9, Sanga, Suryavinayak Municipality, Bhaktapur. The District Court, Bhaktapur, in its decision on April 7, 2071 (Bikram Sambat), had sentenced Pokharel to 1 year and 6 months imprisonment and a fine of Rs 60,000 in the said polygamy case. Police stated that he was arrested after remaining absconded following the court's decision and has been presented to the District Court, Bhaktapur, for the execution of the sentence.
