Six Dead in Separate Road Accidents Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Six people have died in separate road accidents in various districts of the country. In these accidents in Dhanusha, Chitwan, Nawalparasi West, Rukum West, Baitadi, and Udayapur, some other individuals have been injured.

In Dhanusha, a motorcycle numbered Pra.2-02-002 Pa 7745 going from Gordaha to Janakpur became uncontrolled and met with an accident on the road at Gordaha, Dhanauji Rural Municipality-2, resulting in the death of one person. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Manju Devi Gupta, residing in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-1, who was riding the motorcycle. She died during treatment at the Provincial Hospital Janakpur after being seriously injured in the accident.

Similarly, in Chitwan, a tractor numbered Na.4 Ta 5594 and a motorcycle numbered Na.52 Pa 5038 collided on the road at Deurali, Ratnanagar Municipality-4, resulting in the death of the motorcycle rider. Shant Kumar Chaudhary, 51, residing in the same place, died in the accident that occurred on Friday night. He died during treatment at New Medical College Bharatpur after being seriously injured. The tractor driver has been taken into police custody.

In Nawalparasi West, a bus numbered Lu.Pra.01-001 Kha 0665 that was running on the road at Chisapani, Bardaghat Municipality-2, was hit by a truck numbered Na.5 Kha 1905 on Saturday morning, resulting in the death of 30-year-old Neha Gurung, residing in Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-6, Nawalparasi East, who was on the bus. Gurung died during treatment at Chisapani Hospital after being seriously injured. Among the other 3 injured in the accident, 2 are undergoing treatment at the same hospital, while 1 has been sent to Devdaha Medical College Bhairahawa, Rupandehi, for further treatment. The truck driver has been taken into police custody.

In Rukum West, an 18-month-old daughter of Shasiram Pariyar, Anjila Pariyar, died after being hit by a tractor numbered Ga.1 Ta 5613 on the road at Gattasaina, Athbiskot Municipality-11. The girl, who was seriously injured in the accident on Friday evening, died during further treatment at Sanjeevani College of Medical Sciences Pvt. Ltd. Nepalgunj late last night. The tractor driver has been taken into police custody.

Likewise, in Baitadi, a bus numbered Su.Pa.Pra.01-001 Kha 3646 coming from Dhangadhi to Baitadi became uncontrolled and met with an accident on the road at Sailek, Dasharathchand Municipality-4, on Friday evening, resulting in the death of 35-year-old Birendra Bahadur Chand, residing in the same municipality-6, who was on the bus. One other person injured in the accident is undergoing treatment at Maya Metro Hospital Dhangadhi. The bus driver has been taken into police custody.

In Udayapur, a bus numbered Ba.2 Kha 6438 coming from Mahottari to Sunsari became uncontrolled and met with an accident on the road at Jogi Tole, Udayapur Gadhi Rural Municipality-7, on Saturday morning, resulting in the death of 65-year-old Bimlesh Dutt, residing in Bardibas Municipality-2, Mahottari.

He died during treatment at the District Hospital Udayapur after being seriously injured. Among the other passengers injured in the accident, 2 are undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital Biratnagar, 2 at Prime Hospital Biratnagar, 2 at Shub Swastik Hospital Bardibas Mahottari, and 1 at Provincial Hospital Janakpur. The bus driver has been taken into police custody. Police are conducting necessary investigations into all the accidents.
