Actress Mrunal Thakur Breaks Silence on Marriage Rumors, Addresses Misinformation Campaigns

Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur has broken her silence amid rampant social media speculation about her impending marriage to South Indian superstar Dhanush. Thakur clarified that such circulating rumors no longer affect her.

She stated that while such things used to worry her, they now only make her laugh. Thakur mentioned that the perception of her private life outside is different from reality.

‘Sometimes I hear news that I am getting married without my knowledge, sometimes this, sometimes that,’ she said. ‘If something special is happening in my life and I need to share information, I will announce it myself through my official social media.’ She also urged journalists not to turn rumors into news and to confirm any story with her or her team before publishing.

Anger Over Attempts to Tarnish Image

Mrunal expressed displeasure over false propaganda not only regarding personal relationships but also professional work. She complained that misleading news often surfaces claiming her name is linked to films without contacting her, and later suggesting she backed out after demanding high remuneration.

‘Where and who is having these conversations? Why is there an attempt to tarnish an artist's image?,’ she questioned. She also shared the compulsion of having a separate PR team just to mitigate such misunderstandings.

From Baby Bumps to Work Priorities

Criticizing the trend of creating misleading headlines, Mrunal stated that personal comments are also made based on scenes observed during film shoots. ‘If I am playing the role of a pregnant woman in a film and appear outside with a baby bump, that doesn't mean I am actually pregnant in real life!,’ she said. Asserting that not everything seen on social media is true, she advised the audience and media to focus more on the film and the character.

Hinting that the rumors about her marriage to Dhanush are baseless, Mrunal stated that she does not want to advance her career by relying on someone else's name. She wishes her identity to be based on hard work and professional achievements rather than personal relationships.
