Tamil Nadu CM Vijay and Wife Sangeetha's Divorce Hearing Adjourned

Chennai. The hearing of the divorce case between Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and former actor Vijay and his wife Sangeetha Sornalingam was held in the women's court of Chengalpattu district on Monday. Although the court had ordered both parties to be present in person, neither Vijay nor Sangeetha appeared in court on Monday. Since both parties were absent, the court has scheduled the next hearing of this case for August 7. In the first hearing of this case on April 20, Vijay and Sangeetha had also not appeared in court, and only their lawyers were present. According to a Hindustan Times report, citing security sensitivities and other management reasons, the lawyers had requested permission for a virtual hearing. However, the court had rejected the request for an online hearing. The court had ordered both parties to appear in person at the hearing on June 15, but both were still absent in court on Monday. Sangeetha had filed for divorce from Vijay in early 2026. Actor Vijay married Sangeetha Sornalingam in 1999. They have two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Sasha. According to an India Today report, Sangeetha has made serious allegations of illicit relations with other men or women against her husband Vijay in her divorce petition, although she has not mentioned anyone's name in the petition. With the news of Vijay and Sangeetha's divorce going public, the name of popular South Indian actress Trisha Krishnan has started being linked with Vijay. Although there is widespread चर्चा in the market that they are in a romantic relationship, neither Vijay nor Trisha have made any public comments or official statements about their relationship so far. Recently, a decision by Chief Minister Vijay had also caused a lot of discussion in political and film circles.
