Indian Television Actress Sanchita Ugale Dies by Suicide; Father Alleges Mental Torture

Mumbai. After the suicide of popular Indian television actress Sanchita Ugale, her father Machhindra Ugale has revealed that his daughter was subjected to mental torture. He claimed that someone was constantly pressuring Sanchita over money, and due to that, she fell into severe depression.

Sanchita, who became famous in every household playing the role of Diya in the famous TV serial 'Kumkum Bhagya', was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom on Sunday night.

Talking to the media, the actress's father said that Sanchita often used to be under a lot of mental stress. He said, 'She never told us the real reason for this. But we knew she was under a lot of stress internally. In some situations, she would appear completely normal and happy, but would suddenly fall into depression. After this came to our notice, we were visiting her daily to take care of her.'

He further said with grief, 'Only at that time, imagine, we were not with her for about half an hour, that was our mistake. But we did not know that she had gone so deep into depression and would take such a step.' He demanded a proper investigation into his daughter's death and justice from the administration, expressing his wish that no daughter in India should face such a fate.

Sanchita lived with her parents in Palghar, Maharashtra. On Sunday evening around 5:30 PM, her sister Anjali had gone out of the house. At the same time, Sanchita committed suicide by making a noose with her saree on the ceiling fan of her bedroom. Although the family immediately took her to Tulinj Hospital, the doctors declared her dead.

Besides 'Kumkum Bhagya', Sanchita had acted in many popular shows and films like 'Wagle Ki Duniya'. She was last seen in the Dangal TV show 'Saajan Ghar Me' and worked in the lead role with Saurabh Bedi in the popular show 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'.

She had played the important role of Tarabai in the much-awaited film 'Chhaava' starring Vicky Kaushal and Akshay Khanna, which was recently released, and also acted in Manoj Bajpayee's film 'Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout'.

Just a few hours before her death, Sanchita had posted a reel video from her official Instagram account, in which she was lip-syncing and dancing to the song 'Dafli Wale, Dafli Baja'. In the caption of that video, she had written 'Main nachu, tu nacha'.

Sanchita, who is very active on social media, has 1 lakh 39 thousand followers on Instagram, where her fans are now paying tribute.

Meanwhile, after Sanchita's death, although rumors of a love affair with her co-star Ujjwal Sharma spread on social media, Ujjwal has denied it. He clarified that they were never in a relationship and revealed that Sanchita was dating someone else and living in a live-in relationship.

According to Ujjwal, Sanchita was going through a very difficult time after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend and was also taking medical treatment and counseling for mental stress. Ujjwal informed that the production house also provided great support in her treatment during the shooting, keeping her health condition in mind.
