Nepali Films Earn 3.55 Crore Gross in Jestha, 'Roll No. 1' Leads

Kathmandu. The month of Jestha cannot be considered very profitable for the Nepali film sector. A total box office collection of only 3 crore 55 lakh 96 thousand 520 rupees (gross collection) was recorded this month, with 6 films released. According to data released by the Film Development Board, 1 lakh 22 thousand 380 viewers went to the halls to watch these films. The films released in the month of Jestha include 'Ek Muthi Badal', 'Life Damage', 'Kaji', 'Mitjyu', 'Roll No. 1', and 'Kumbha'.

Among the 6 films released in Jestha, 'Roll No. 1' has appeared to be the most commercially successful in terms of box office collection. According to the report released by the Film Development Board last Sunday at 12 midnight, this film has grossed 1 crore 35 lakh 15 thousand 993 rupees at the box office. During this period, a total of 47 thousand 151 viewers went to the halls to watch this film.

This film, produced by Binod Poudel and directed by Jon Yonjan, stars Mukun Bhusal, Sushank Karki, Renu Nath Yogi, and Sirjana Adhikari in lead roles. The film emotionally presents education, family relationships, student life challenges, and social realities.

The film 'Mitjyu', which is in second place, has also done strong business. The total business of the film is 1 crore 32 lakh 53 thousand 342 rupees. During this period, 46 thousand 154 viewers watched this film in the halls. Produced by Janak Gharti Magar and directed by Anil Budhamagar, this film is based on the emotional story of rural environment and relationships. The film stars Dayahang Rai, Saugat Malla, and dancer Teriya Fauja Magar in lead roles. Since 'Roll No. 1' and 'Mitjyu' are still being screened, their business is likely to increase further.

Similarly, the business of the film 'Kaji', released this month, was average. The film has grossed a total of 44 lakh 48 thousand 60 rupees at the box office. During this period, 14 thousand 324 viewers went to watch the film. Directed by Laxman Rizal with Ramprasad Rizal as presenter, this film stars Bipin Karki and Keki Adhikari in lead roles. The film presents a love story.

Compared to 'Kaji', the business of 'Life Damage' was somewhat weak. The film grossed 34 lakh 66 thousand 290 rupees. The number of viewers who watched the film during this period was 11 thousand 371.
