Capital expenditure in first five months reaches NPR 40.8 billion

Kathmandu, December 16 — In the first five months of the current fiscal year, nearly NPR 41 billion was spent on capital expenditure, according to the Office of the Financial Comptroller General Office .

As of the end of Mangsir, the government has spent NPR 40.8 billion, which is 11.58% of its total capital expenditure target for the year.

The government had set a target of NPR 352.35 billion for capital expenditure this fiscal year.

This represents an increase in the actual expenditure compared to last year, when NPR 36.06 billion was spent in the same period.

However, the percentage of capital expenditure in relation to the target is lower this year compared to last year, when it was 11.94%.

The breakdown of expenditure over the first five months is as follows: NPR 8.55 billion in Shrawan, NPR 6.34 billion in Bhadra, NPR 14.48 billion in Ashoj, NPR 5.16 billion in Kartik, and NPR 1.82 billion in Mangsir.

Despite an increase in the amount spent, the percentage of expenditure relative to the total target has decreased this year.
