Three arrested on charge of attacking police with sharp-edged weapon

Kathmandu - Police have arrested three persons of Makawanpur on the charge of assaulting police personnel with a sharp-edged weapon. The arrested are Bhaktaram Raut, 26, Utsav Gautam, 16 and Nakul BK, 50, of Hetadua-6, said district police office Makawanpur spokesperson Indra Bahadur Rana. They were arrested on the charge of attacking Hetauda-6 Chaughada police post in-charge Assistant Sub Inspector Dambar Bahadur KC with a knife last night.

The arrested are said to be drug abusers. According to the Makawanpur Police, the attack was carried out when ASI KC attempted to take the three under control after finding them consuming drugs at 10.00 pm on Monday night. KC sustained serious injuries on his right hand and now is receiving treatment at the Bharatpur Hospital after primary treatment at the Churehil Hospital. Further investigation is underway for legal actions against the arrestees, police sources said.
