PM Oli dismisses allegations of overseas investments

Kathmandu, November 22 — UML Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has responded to allegations regarding his alleged investments abroad.

Highlighting the tendency of making baseless accusations, he challenged his critics to engage in discussions based on factual evidence.

Addressing a rally held on Friday at Durbar Marg in the capital, Oli remarked that some people are making baseless claims, suggesting, for instance, that he owns half the wealth in American banks.

He said, "They claim I have NPR 32,000 crores (USD 2.1 billion) in Cambodia, or thousands in Swiss banks. You can't even go verify it. Why stop there? Just say half of all American banks' wealth is mine!"

Dismissing such claims as meaningless, Oli added that no impact would result from such baseless talk.

However, he questioned how some leaders from other political parties suddenly became billionaires from ordinary circumstances.
