Biratnagar– Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, has said the government has moved ahead with a plan to remove all evils and aberrations afflicting judiciary.
Inaugurating an interaction on 'Civil and Criminal Code' organised by the Ministry here today, Minister Dhakal said that the government has already formulated 339 laws as per the constitution to ensure people's right to freedom.
Similarly, Minister of Law and Internal Affairs of Province-1, Hikmat Kumar Karki, stressed the need of launching a campaign on legal literacy from rural municipality to municipality-level with effective plan so that general public would be aware. He further said Province 1 has already passed 24 laws and necessary directives and working procedure would be brought to implement the laws.
Likewise, Attorney at Province-1, Chudamani Acharya, laid emphasis on the need of launching awareness campaign in order to make people follow the laws while President of Biratnagar High-Bar, Ram Prasad Bhandari, also of the view of legal literacy.
Joint-Secretary at the Ministry, Phanindra Gautam, clarified that the programme was organised with an objective of garnering suggestions to bring the laws into practice.
On the occasion, District Judge Raju Khatiwada, Joint-Secretary Gautam and Lawyer Narayan Basti presented working papers on different issues related to Civil and Criminal Code.
