Transportation disrupted along East – West highway

Nawalparasi - The vehicular movement along the Daunne road stretch of Nawalparasi under the East – West highway was obstructed last night after a truck loaded with freight got stuck on the muddy road.

According to Chief District Officer, Udaya Bahadur Rana, the efforts to remove the truck is underway. "We are preparing to resume transportation by removing the truck," CDO Magar said.

The Daunne section was struck by multiple and sporadic landslides on Friday night and on Saturday a portion of the road collapsed obstructing transportation. The road was opened on a single lane at 1 pm on Sunday.

With the torrential downpour continuing the risk of more landslides remains along with renewed obstruction.
