Udayapur reels under blackout of telecommunications services

Gaighat (Udayapur)- A breakdown in the regional telecommunications office tower in Itahari of Sunsari sparked by torrential downpour has disrupted telecommunications services for the past two days.

The mobile and telephone services have been cut off which has created problems for the local villagers and obstructed journalists from collecting news, said Udayapur – based journalist, Bhakti Bilash Pokharel.

The telecommunications services in some Tarai districts including Udayapur have been severed after a flooding in the Kadmana river swept an electric pole.

District Telecom Office, Gaighat said it had information that the telecommunications services could resume today.
