Communal Tension Controlled in Sunsari After All-Party Meeting

Biratnagar. After the incident in Devangunj, Sunsari, an all-party meeting has decided to make special efforts to control the tension and prevent communal incitement.

Chief of District Police Office, Sunsari, Police Superintendent (SP) Keshav Kumar Thebe informed that the security situation in the area is currently under full control. According to Thebe, all political parties and stakeholders present at the all-party meeting on Monday pledged to actively work from their respective places to prevent communal violence and tension. 'The meeting has decided that everyone will work from their respective places to control and prevent these communal incitement-related issues,' Thebe said.

He stated that the District Security Committee is holding continuous meetings and the overall security system of the district is within 'command and control'. 'The District Security Committee meeting is ongoing, it is within command and control. The situation in Devangunj and Kapilangunj is fine, it is normal. In Laukhi and Bhokraha on the highway, there are some closures, the road is jammed, that's all,' Thebe said.

Although the situation in Devangunj and Kapilangunj areas is under control, SP Thebe said that small groups are gathering in some places in Laukhi and Bhokraha areas and trying to block the highway.

No new untoward incidents or further loss of life have occurred today, and police teams have been deployed to normalize the situation. The District Police Office, Sunsari has stated that only one person has died so far and no further untoward details have been received.
