Transport Services Disrupted Due to Server Updates

Kathmandu. Transport services have been affected for a long time due to server updates by the Department of Transport Management and the Ministry of Labour and Transport of Bagmati Province. The Department of Transport Management had issued a notice on July 20, stating that all services except essential ones would be closed until July 24 for entering new tax rates set by the provincial governments into the system and for database migration.

However, a few days later, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Bagmati Province issued another notice on July 27, stating that services would take some more time to resume.

Bagmati Province has suspended services until the database is transferred to the new system and technical tasks are completed. Consumers have complained of hardship in vehicle renewal and registration processes due to repeated service disruptions.

The department and ministry have apologized for the inconvenience caused to service recipients. However, no specific time has been set for when the services will be fully resumed.

Common people are facing problems due to the slowness of the government system and technical weaknesses.
