Landslide Equipment Deployed on Narayangadh-Muglin Road

Chitwan. Excavators, loaders, and trippers, among other equipment, have been managed at three locations to clear landslides on the Narayangadh-Muglin road section immediately. Division Road Office Bharatpur engineer Arjun Ghimire informed that equipment has been placed to reach the accident site immediately as landslides with mud can fall during the monsoon. According to him, there is one loader in Muglin, while loaders, excavators, backhoe loaders, trippers, trailers, and mini excavators have been placed at Seti Dobhan. The construction company has managed excavators and loaders at Tuin Khola, which was recently contracted. The equipment in that area will be used to clear landslides as soon as they occur. The equipment at Tuin Khola will only be mobilized to clear landslides in that area under normal circumstances. Engineer Ghimire stated that if a large area is affected by landslides, equipment will also be brought from the Hetauda and Pokhara offices. He informed that equipment and manpower have been managed in a state of readiness to clear landslides as soon as they occur in that area. Since the beginning of the monsoon, large and small landslides have been occurring daily. Efforts are underway to clear those landslides and resume traffic. There is a risk of landslides in 43 places, from medium to high, on that road section. Seven of those places are at high risk, while others are at medium risk. Dry landslides also occur on that road section during winter. It is found that thousands of vehicles enter and exit the capital daily through that highway from various parts of the country. That road currently serves as the lifeline of the capital, Kathmandu.
