President Paudel: Ancestors' Sacrifice Enables Nepali Pride

Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that due to the sacrifice, martyrdom, courage, and bravery of the ancestors, Nepalis today can stand with their heads held high with pride. Speaking at the 225th birth anniversary and award and honor ceremony of national luminary Bhimsen Thapa on Friday, he said that only by following the good aspects of history can we do justice to the present.

He said, 'Only by following the good aspects of history can we do justice to the present. I believe that this will also pave a golden path for building the future.'

He said that the sacrifice and contribution made by brave ancestors for our nation, nationality, national integrity, and sovereignty are commendable. President Paudel clarified that the national unity should be strengthened on the foundation of mutual brotherhood, friendship, tolerance, and unity, and the deep faith and commitment towards patriotism should never be allowed to waver.

He said, 'It is with the strength of this unity that we must move forward by making the country prosperous and awakening the spirit of patriotism in future generations. Let us all unite to end corruption, irregularities, and anomalies and accelerate the work of national development through good governance. This will be a true tribute to our brave ancestors, including the national luminary Bhimsen Thapa.'

President Paudel said that Bhimsen Thapa, who had a multifaceted personality, never bowed down to anything against the nation, nationality, national integrity, and sovereignty, and patriotism was his main mantra. 'Even though a great price had to be paid in the war with the British, Nepal was able to remain independent due to his stance of patriotism,' he said.
