Weather Forecast: Monsoon Influence Across Nepal with Potential for Heavy Rainfall

Kathmandu. Currently, the monsoon trough is affecting the entire country, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology informed. Currently, the monsoon low-pressure line is at an average location.

Due to this influence, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the hilly and mountainous regions of the Lumbini province, are generally cloudy, while parts of the Terai regions of Madhesh province and Lumbini province have partly cloudy skies. Moderate rainfall is occurring in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces, and in a few places in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Today afternoon, the entire country will generally be cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in some places in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in some places in the Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and in a few places in the Terai regions of Madhesh province and Sudurpaschim province.  

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, the entire country will generally be cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in a few places in the mountainous regions of the country. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunderstorms in some places in the hilly regions and a few places in the Terai regions of the country. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in the hilly and Terai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, the Department informed.
