Education Ministry Discusses Issues with Education Consultancy Sector

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Education and Sports will hold discussions today with stakeholders on the problems, challenges, and policy reforms in the education consultancy sector. The discussion, to be held at the ministry in the presence of government spokesperson and Minister of Education Sasmita Pokharel, will be attended by officials and representatives of various associations related to the education consultancy sector. According to the ministry, the discussion organized with the objective of making the education consultancy sector organized, transparent, and effective will include detailed discussions on the current state of the consultancy business, problems and challenges faced by the private sector, promotion of quality education consultancy services, policy reforms, and regulatory arrangements. Representatives from associations such as the Education Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN), Federation of Education Consultancy Associations of Nepal (FECAN), Active Education Consultancy Association (AEKAN), Association of Education Consultancy Entrepreneurs (AERI), Japanese Language School Association (JALSA), Nepalese Association of Australian Education Representatives (NAAER), National Education Consultancy Association (NECA), ECAN, NEWA, and NEXA will participate in the discussion. According to the ministry, suggestions from stakeholders will also be collected on the provisions related to the Education Consultancy, Language, Teaching and Preparatory Class (Operation and Management) Regulations, 2083, as well as contemporary issues related to the education consultancy sector. The Ministry has stated that Minister of Education Pokharel has been continuously engaging with various stakeholders, educational institutions, and private sector representatives related to the education sector and prioritizing policy reforms and necessary coordination based on their suggestions.
