Students Protest in Patna Supporting Delhi Demonstration

New Delhi. In support of the ongoing student protests in India's capital New Delhi, students protested in Bihar's capital Patna on Wednesday called by the All India Students Association (AISA).

Students associated with other student organizations along with AISA students participated in this protest.

The protesters' march was scheduled to start from Gate No. 10 of Gandhi Maidan in Patna and go up to Raj Bhavan. But the police stopped the students near JP Golambar, close to Gandhi Maidan. To control the situation, the police used water cannons and fired tear gas shells at the protesters.

According to BBC video journalist Shahnawaz Ahmed, two tear gas shells were fired by the police. During this, protesters were also accused of pelting stones at the police.

Despite the police action, the protesting students did not stop at JP Golambar and continued to Dak Bungalow Chowk. During this, students were continuously chanting slogans of 'Godi Media Go Back'.

Information has been received that several journalists were injured during the protest. Some injured journalists were taken out of the crowd after the mediation and intervention of some people.
