US Conducts Airstrikes Across Iran for 11th Consecutive Night

Tehran. Iranian officials said that the United States targeted various cities in the western and southern parts of the country in airstrikes on Iran for the 11th consecutive night. According to Iranian state media, air defense systems were activated in many areas including the capital Tehran, and in the west and south until Wednesday morning.

A video geolocated by CNN showed fire and thick smoke rising near the Behbehan Northwest Airport in the city of Behbehan in Khuzestan province. The video shows fires in buildings in the area.

According to Iran's state broadcaster IRIB, although air defense systems were activated in the capital Tehran, no details of major damage have been released immediately.

Airstrikes were also reported in Kabudarahang city, about 240 kilometers west of Tehran. An attack also occurred in the northwestern city of Tabriz. Similarly, IRIB reported, citing local officials, that US airstrikes occurred in the Chabar and Abadan regions of the western Ilam province.

According to the Iranian state news agency IRNA, explosions were heard in the cities of Mahshahr and Sirik near the Strait of Hormuz. Explosions were also reported in the city of Bushehr on the coast of the Persian Gulf. Bushehr is home to Iran's only nuclear power plant.

Iranian state media reported that the southeastern port cities of Konarak and Chabahar were also targeted by US airstrikes.
