Landslides Cleared on Prithvi Highway in Chitwan, Traffic Disrupted

Chitwan. Landslides in two places on the Prithvi Highway in Chitwan have been cleared. However, traffic has not been able to operate as the road was blocked towards Dhading.

The road was blocked due to landslides in Panidhara and Chumkhola of Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-2 on the Prithvi Highway. The landslide that fell this morning was cleared and the road has been in operation since 9:30 AM.

According to the Chief of the District Police Office, Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Poudel, although the landslide in Chitwan has been cleared, vehicles cannot operate as a landslide has occurred in Jawang Khola in Dhading. Vehicles from the Chitwan side have been stopped at Chumlingtar, Kurintar, and Mugling. Vehicles going to and from Pokhara via the Narayangadh-Mugling road section have been in operation since early morning.

The local administration had stopped vehicular movement since last night due to the risk of landslides. Vehicles are stopped on the Narayangadh-Mugling road section and Prithvi Highway. Due to the vehicles stopped since last night, a queue of vehicles has formed on the road.
