Home Ministry Appoints Deputy Secretaries as Chief District Officers in Two Districts

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed Deputy Secretaries as Chief District Officers (CDOs) in two districts where the post of Joint Secretary is sanctioned. The ministry had transferred 42 Deputy Secretaries through a decision at the level of Home Secretary Ramchandra Tiwari on Friday.

In the process of transfer, by transferring the Chief District Officers of some districts, the 'Procedure for Appointment or Transfer of Chief District Officers or Assignment of Work (Second Amendment) Procedure, 2080' was violated by giving the responsibility of CDO to Deputy Secretaries in districts where the post of Joint Secretary is sanctioned.

In Jumla and Dadeldhura, which fall under 'Ga' class districts where Joint Secretaries are appointed as CDOs as per the procedure, Deputy Secretaries have been appointed as CDOs. Deputy Secretary Tej Prakash Prasai has been sent to Jumla and Deputy Secretary Mina Aryal has been sent to Dadeldhura as CDOs by Secretary Tiwari.
