Binu Gharti Wins Double Gold in 16th South Asian Bodybuilding Championship

Kathmandu. Nepal's Binu Gharti has won double medals in the 16th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship. On Saturday, the last day of the competition held in Thimphu, Bhutan, Binu won gold in women's swimwear and silver in model physique.

According to Dinesh Kumar Rajbhandari, Secretary of the Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association, Nepal also won an additional 1-1 gold and silver on the final day of the competition. Sagendra Singh won gold in the men's 80 kg weight group, while Nepal received silver in the women's team championship. Similarly, Deepjang Rokka Magar finished fifth in the men's 75 kg.

Performing excellently throughout the competition, Nepal has managed to win a total of 3 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal. Earlier, Akash Shrestha won gold in men's sports physique below 170 cm, Sita Khatri won silver in women's athletic physique, and Pukar Shakya won bronze in men's sports physique above 170 cm.

Nepal's total medal count has reached 15 gold, 19 silver, and 20 bronze, having continuously participated since the first edition of South Asian Bodybuilding. The Nepali team, which achieved historic success in the competition, is returning home on Sunday.
