Nepal Ayurveda Doctors Association Appeals for Evidence Against Illegal Medicine Production and Sales

Kathmandu. The Nepal Ayurveda Doctors Association has made a public appeal for evidence to stop the illegal production, sale-distribution, and misleading advertising of Ayurvedic medicines.

Although investigations into illegally operating activities are underway and legal action has been initiated in coordination with the Association, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Nepal Police, the Association has stated that complaints have been received about misleading online and offline promotions in the name of unregistered medicines, herbs, and nutritional supplements.

For this, the Association has requested doctors, businessmen, media persons, and the general public to provide cooperation by submitting the names, photos, online link screenshots, shop or clinic details, bills-receipts, and other relevant evidence of illegal medicines.

Clarifying that a policy of 'zero tolerance' has been adopted towards any illegal activities in the name of Ayurveda, the Association has pledged to maintain the confidentiality of the details received.

The Association has urged to send only clear and verifiable true evidence, not baseless accusations or personal vendetta. The collected evidence will be submitted to regulatory bodies such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Nepal Police, Department of Drug Administration, and strict legal action will be initiated against the guilty, according to an appeal issued by the Association's President Dr. Shankar Gautam and General Secretary Dr. Rishi Keshav Bhusal.
