Former PM Jhalanath Khanal Condemns PM Balen Shah's Parliamentary Statement

Kathmandu. Former Prime Minister and senior leader of NCP, Jhalanath Khanal, has strongly objected to the statement made by Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah in the House of Representatives.

Reacting through social media, Khanal claimed that the Prime Minister stated that Nepal has also encroached upon India's land, calling it 'serious, sad, wrong, and anti-national'.

He mentioned that the Nepali people have been struggling against foreign encroachment since the past, and stated that expressions that normalize or trivialize the encroachment happening on the country would hurt national sentiment.

Khanal also raised the question of on what facts, evidence, and documents the Prime Minister made such a statement. Khanal claimed that the statement has struck a blow to the patriotic feelings of millions of Nepalis within and outside the country. 'Such a person is not fit to sit on the Prime Minister's chair of the country,' Khanal said.

Former Prime Minister Khanal has called on all patriotic citizens and political forces to protest and condemn the Prime Minister's statement until he publicly apologizes. He also urged the Speaker to remove the Prime Minister's statement from the parliamentary records.

Khanal has termed the Prime Minister's statement as 'anti-national expression'.
