Shram Sanskriti Party Condemns Prime Minister's Statement on Border Dispute

Kathmandu. The Shram Sanskriti Party, chaired by Hark Sampang, has expressed objection and condemned the Prime Minister's statement in Parliament. The party, issuing a press release, has termed the Prime Minister's statement as a 'nation-damaging malicious intent'.

Shram Sanskriti Party views the summoning of the parliamentary session on Jestha 17 without a predetermined schedule and the subsequent departure of the National Independent Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party) chairman for a visit to India the very next day with significance. The party claims that the Prime Minister, who never attends or speaks in parliament without a prior schedule, appeared suddenly solely to appease India before the RSP chairman's visit. The press release expresses strong outrage over the Prime Minister's statement from the parliamentary rostrum that 'Nepal has encroached upon Indian territory in many places'.

The statement issued by Chairman Sampang mentions that a game is being played to dismiss the serious issue of Nepal's border encroachment through such irresponsible statements by the Prime Minister. It alleges that this is a conspiracy to suppress the demand of the Nepali people for the return of Lipulek and Limpiyadhura and to force Nepal to cede land in many areas to India. The party has concluded that such statements by a person holding the dignified position of Prime Minister, against the country's interests, have created serious ambiguity in the international community regarding Nepal's image and status.

The press release expresses anger, stating that the government has weakened the role of the Nepali Army and used it in the wrong places. It alleges that the government has limited the Nepali Army to opening the doors of ministers' cars and attacking the settlements of its own poor citizens. The statement mentions that it is shameful for the government, which does not even send the army to the country's borders, to claim that Nepal has encroached upon India's borders.

Shram Sanskriti Party has stated that this incident confirms that the Prime Minister and the current government are not at all committed to defending the country's borders and geographical integrity. Strong objection and protest have been expressed on behalf of the party and all Nepali people against such actions by the Prime Minister.
