Mixed Weather Systems Affecting Nepal

Kathmandu. Currently, a mixed influence of various air systems is observed in Nepal's weather. 

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the trough of the westerly low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere, local winds, and the low-pressure line near Nepal from west to east are currently active.

Due to this weather system, there is generally cloudy weather in Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. The plains of the remaining parts of the country have partly cloudy weather. Currently, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is occurring in a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces, and in one or two places in Gandaki and Sudurpashchim provinces, the Department stated.

On Monday, the weather across the country is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy. The hilly and mountainous regions will be generally cloudy, while the plains will be partly cloudy. 

During this period, there is a possibility of deteriorating weather in a few places in Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. According to the Department, there is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall with thunderstorms in one or two places in these areas, as well as in the plains of Koshi and Lumbini provinces.
