Auditor General Toyam Raya Submits 63rd Annual Report to President Ram Chandra Paudel

Kathmandu. Auditor General Toyam Raya has submitted the 63rd annual report for the fiscal year 2081/082 to President Ram Chandra Paudel. NBS

Raya submitted the report on Friday at a program organized at Shital Niwas, the President's residence, in accordance with Article 294 of the Constitution of Nepal. NBS

He informed that the report was prepared by auditing the mobilization of public resources and means based on regularity, economy, efficiency, effectiveness, and justification. NBS In the fiscal year 2081/082, audits of a total of 5,526 entities worth Rs 94 kharba 84 arba 50 crore were completed. Of this, audits of 3,050 federal ministries and entities worth Rs 29 kharba 17 arba 95 crore, 1,124 provincial offices worth Rs 3 kharba 20 arba 30 crore, and 721 local bodies worth Rs 11 kharba 9 arba 52 crore were conducted. Additionally, audits of 577 committees and other organizations worth Rs 4 kharba 47 arba 77 crore and 44 corporate bodies worth Rs 46 kharba 88 arba 96 crore were completed. NBS

A total of Rs 88 arba 9 crore 11 lakh has been found as outstanding from this year's audit. Of this, Rs 53 arba 48 crore 77 lakh is from federal government offices, Rs 5 arba 22 crore 87 lakh from provinces, Rs 19 arba 4 crore 77 lakh from local levels, and Rs 10 arba 32 crore 70 lakh from committees and other organizations. With this, Nepal's updated outstanding amount has reached Rs 7 kharba 55 arba 17 crore, which is 2.99 percent higher than last year. The updated outstanding amount includes Rs 3 kharba 78 arba 54 crore from federal offices and Rs 2 kharba 20 arba 47 crore from local levels. NBS

As a result of the audit, a total of Rs 14 arba 63 crore 27 lakh was recovered and deposited into the revenue account this year, said Auditor General Raya. This year, outstanding amounts worth Rs 63 arba 12 crore 95 lakh were also reconciled. He mentioned that outstanding amounts of similar nature are repeated due to a lack of improvement in the issues highlighted in the report and expressed the expectation that its effective implementation would be carried out by the parliament and local levels. The office also completed functional audits on 15 issues and an environmental special audit on one issue this year. NBS
