Clash Erupts at Nepali Congress Bara Party Office Over Operations

Bara. A clash has erupted between two groups over the operation of the Nepali Congress Bara party office. A clash occurred within the party office premises between the cadres of the former district president Rajesh Rai Yadav and the working president Manoj Bhatt faction.

After the party's central disciplinary department took action against the former president Yadav, the responsibility of the working president was given to Vice-President Manoj Bhatt. As a preparation for the BP Koirala memorial day on August 6, when the supporters of the Bhatt group reached the party office for cleaning today, a dispute and slogan shouting started between the two sides.

Working President Bhatt said that he received the responsibility according to the party's decision and the instructions of leader Gagan Thapa. "After the party gave me the responsibility of the working president, we reached the office today to take over the office documents and building," Bhatt said, "but they did not agree to hand over the documents. They refused to vacate the building, saying they would not accept anyone except in a special convention."

On the other hand, when the former president Rajesh Rai Yadav was asked about this matter, he said that he was currently in a discussion and would talk later.

After being stopped from entering the party office, there was pushing and stone-pelting between both groups. Some cadres were slightly injured in the clash. Eyewitnesses have accused the local administration of remaining a mute spectator even when the situation became tense.

It is reported that discussions are currently underway between both groups at the party office to resolve the dispute.
