Dhangadhi Mayor Continues Commitment to Social Spending

Dhangadhi. Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Gopal Hamal has continued his commitment to spend the remuneration and service facilities he receives on social sectors. Accordingly, on Friday, he distributed educational materials to students of community schools.
Since being elected mayor, Hamal, who announced that he would not take government facilities, has been spending all the money received so far on education, cow service, and the support of the helpless.

The entire amount of Rs 137,273 received in the financial year 2078-079 was spent. Of this, Rs 55,687 was donated to the Cow Protection Service Committee and Rs 81,586 to the South Kali Basic Deaf Residential School.

Similarly, out of Rs 936,400 received in the financial year 2079-080, warm clothes worth Rs 267,800 were provided. A total of 269 dependents from Drishti Foundation, Manav Sewa Ashram, Aama ko Maya Chhatrabas, Khagendra Navajeevan Kendra, and South Kali School benefited from this.

Similarly, in the financial year 2080-081, educational materials such as notebooks, pencils, cutters, and erasers were distributed to 3,489 students in 17 community schools that had zero results in the class 8 annual examination. Rs 992,605 was spent on this.

Similarly, in the current financial year 2081-082, educational materials have been distributed to 7,475 students studying in 47 community schools in Dhangadhi from the amount received. Hamal distributed stationery worth Rs 1 million on Friday.

Hamal stated that preparations are underway to spend the service facility amount to be received in the upcoming 2082-083 on social work as well. His plan is to reach a total of 4.4 million by adding Rs 500,000 in personal contributions.

A total of Rs 3,882,873 has been received so far from Mayor Hamal's service facilities. While more than Rs 2,397,000 has been spent so far, Mayor Hamal has announced that he will add Rs 517,126 from his personal funds to the remaining amount. He informed that a total of Rs 4.4 million will be distributed in the field of social development, including his service facilities and personal contributions.

He informed that this work has been done with the objective of especially providing access to education for underprivileged students in community schools and supporting social campaigns.
