Magde Rural Municipality Announces Incentives for Everest Climbers and Agricultural Support

Tanahun. Magde Rural Municipality has announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh to those who climb Sagarmatha. The municipality has stated that it has adopted a policy of providing Rs 5 lakh as an incentive to residents of Magde who climb Sagarmatha with the flag of the rural municipality.< /p>

The chairman of the rural municipality, Shreeprasad Shrestha, said that with the objective of establishing the identity of Magde at the national and international level, a person who climbs Sagarmatha with the flag bearing the logo of Magde Rural Municipality will be provided with an incentive grant of Rs 5 lakh. He said that this program has been brought with the objective of connecting the name of the rural municipality with Sagarmatha, the symbol of Nepal's pride, and promoting adventurous tourism activities.< /p>

Similarly, in the policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84, the agriculture and livestock sector has been given special priority. To further encourage farmers in milk production, an arrangement has been made to provide a grant of Rs 10 per liter of milk. The rural municipality has allocated a budget of Rs 5 million for this program.< /p>

With the objective of promoting social harmony, equality, and the construction of an inclusive society, an arrangement has been made to provide an incentive amount of Rs 50,000 to couples who enter into inter-caste marriage, he informed. He believes that this program will be effective in ending the caste discrimination that still exists in society and strengthening social unity.< /p>

To strengthen disaster risk reduction and emergency management, the rural municipality has set aside a budget of Rs 4 million for the disaster management fund. Chairman Shrestha said that this amount will be mobilized to make relief, rescue, and rehabilitation activities effective in the event of floods, landslides, fires, and other natural and human-induced disasters.< /p>

Considering the tourism sector as an important basis for the economic development of the rural municipality, the necessary budget has been allocated for the infrastructure development and promotion of tourist areas such as Manung, Gainraswara, and Harkapur, he informed. The goal is to attract domestic and international tourists by constructing footpaths, rest stops, viewpoints, information centers, and other necessary structures in these areas.< /p>

Chairman Shrestha said that the program 'Basespani Sahar, Gaun Kai Khane Rahar' will be operated to promote the conservation, marketing, and consumption of local products. Through this program, the use of agricultural produce, dairy products, food grains, and traditional food items produced in the villages will be encouraged.< /p>

The rural municipality has stated that it aims to build sustainable development and a prosperous Magde by advancing agricultural production increase, tourism promotion, social inclusion, disaster management, and the conservation of local products in an integrated manner.< /p>
