KP Sharma Oli Demands Investigation Report from National Human Rights Commission

Kathmandu. CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has demanded the investigation and research report from the National Human Rights Commission. Chairman Oli has demanded the investigation and research report issued by the commission regarding the arson movement. On behalf of Chairman Oli, UML leader Mahesh Bartaula registered a petition at the commission on Friday demanding the investigation and research report. The petition of Chairman Oli, who is also a former Prime Minister, states that the commission's report is silent on the issue of those involved in arson and inciting the destruction of constitutional bodies. Regarding the above subject, it has been publicized that the National Human Rights Commission has conducted an investigation and research to find out the truth about the incident on August 23, 2082, where school children were used as human shields to attack the parliament building, break police barricades, and spread chaotic incitement, resulting in human casualties in accordance with the Local Administration Act after endangering the lives of the police, and on the 24th, the incident of arson, vandalism, and looting occurred across the country, spreading terror and targeting the buildings of all levels of the legislature, executive, and judiciary, as well as state security bodies, other government buildings, political party offices, industrial establishments, media offices, and private homes of leaders. 2. On 2083/02/13, it does not seem that the decision number 177 of the National Human Rights Commission's meeting number 177, which appeared in the public media, matches the factual part of the decision with the recommendation part. Not only that, on one hand, it concludes that my actions as the then Prime Minister were not against the law, and on the other hand, I cannot believe that the decision mentioned that action should be taken with retrospective law against those who are not involved in the incident, who have not violated the law, and whom the constitution and laws of the country do not allow to take any action. Similarly, regarding the incident, it was observed that the commission's decision was silent on the issue of those involved in arson, inciting the destruction of constitutional bodies, and the unauthorized occupation of state machinery. It did not seem natural that the commission would be subservient to a specific individual in this manner. I am saddened to hear public comments that the officials of the commission who recommended actions contrary to the constitution of Nepal have clearly demonstrated their incompetence. 3. Since the commission has recommended action contrary to the constitution and law, and it has directly affected me, it is my right to know whether this decision is real or not? What facts and evidence were collected to reach such a decision and conclusion? I was confident that the commission would formally send me the investigation or research report which is the basis of the decision that is said to be against the citizen himself. However, since it has been almost thirty days since the decision, which was made to defame me as well, was made public, and I have not received formal information about it, I have submitted this application. 4. Therefore, I request that the following documents be provided to me: a. Certified copy of the commission's meeting decision number 177. b. Copy of the report submitted to the commission by the committee formed under the leadership of Honorable Member Lili Thapa to investigate this matter. c. Which part of the report was removed? Which part was added? The reason for adding or subtracting and making a decision? And if any further investigation or research was done in this regard, a copy of that report. d. Copy of all collected statements and documents. We request you to cooperate in the work of obeying and enforcing the law by providing a copy of the report as mentioned above.
