Tribhuvan University Student Union Releases 2081/82 Annual Report

Kathmandu. The Free Student Union (FSU) of Tribhuvan University (TU), University Campus, Kirtipur, has released its annual report for 2081/82.

The report, prepared by FSU Secretary Hikmat Kumar Budha, details the significant achievements and activities conducted over the past year in the areas of academics, administration, physical infrastructure, and student welfare.

FSU President Deepak Raj Joshi stated in the report that the union has consistently played a constructive role in protecting student rights, ensuring administrative accountability, and making the campus more student-friendly.

'We have adopted a policy of resolving issues through dialogue and collaboration, breaking the tradition of protests involving lockouts or vandalism,' the report notes.

Academic and Administrative Reforms

The report highlights the implementation of the university's academic calendar, the establishment of a 'Digital Help Desk' at the Office of the Controller of Examinations, and the introduction of an online payment system for fees.

Additionally, for the convenience of students, the library has been opened 24/7, and through the FSU's initiative, health insurance facilities have been launched for TU students via provincial hospitals.

Furthermore, emphasis has been placed on revising scholarship guidelines and formulating various student-friendly policies. Regarding physical infrastructure, the report mentions the installation of street lights on campus, CCTV cameras, the construction of a sports field, and the upgrading of hostels.

A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared for campus beautification and organized parking, while various programs such as the 'Summer Bootcamp Academic Program' and workshops on the stock market have been conducted to enhance student capabilities.

The report also mentions that arrangements have been made for student health check-ups through health camps. Acknowledging challenges such as budget constraints and administrative delays, the FSU has expressed its commitment to continue working effectively to maintain the trust of the students in the days ahead.
